A Network Management Control System (NMCS) is defined as “an application or set of applications that lets network administrators manage a network's independent components inside a bigger network management framework.” This includes monitoring and controlling both software and hardware elements. The primary advantage of an NMCS is its ability to centralize operations, leading to cost savings, time efficiency, and increased productivity. Nebraska Public Media developed a phased approach for the installation, integration, and implementation of such products and/or systems that meet or exceed NMCS requirements. Nebraska Public Media has been working with MNC Software Inc. to select, choose, combine, alter, or split proposed phases for the phased approach that align with organizational strategy, annual budget and equipment refreshment needs. We'll reveal the current status of our completed project and provide a forward-looking glimpse into its future. This session will offer a retrospective on the project's past, insights into the present state, and a roadmap for what lies ahead. Discover the risks, rewards, pitfalls, and valuable lessons we've gained in establishing Network Management and Administration in the ever-changing world of technology.
