Avid Media Composer is one of the oldest and most well established non-linear editing applications in use today, but there is always room to make it faster. This session will focus on ways to speed up the editing process in Avid Media Composer. From keyboard shortcuts to editing techniques to little “hacks” there are many things that even experienced Avid editors don’t know. This session is less about using a faster computer to speed up rendering and exporting and more about day-to-day tips and techniques that will collectively save times for the Avid editor or many days, weeks, months and years working with Avid.

In this session you’ll learn:
• How to use keyboard shortcuts for less mouse clicks and overall less mouse usage
• Keyboard mappings to speed up repetitive tasks
• Using hardware control surfaces
• Third-party tools to supplement Media Composer and add features not built into Avid
