Warren Eagles is a long term Resolve Colorist, grading his first feature film using Resolve back in 2006. He continues to use Resolve for his day to day grading commitments in Australia, coloring everything from YouTube clips to feature films. Warren also teaches Color grading for his training company the ‘International Colorist Academy’

In this session Warren covers 2 of the most asked color questions. Matching shots and getting nice skin tones. So many different cameras, plus the addition of VFX shots and stock footage means matching is a huge challenge. Getting the skin just right is tricky. Warren will showcase his techniques.

This is an intermediate class aimed at Editors, DPs and Colorists who are already using Resolve but want to learn some great tips and tricks to help elevate their grading to the next level. The session will be conducted using Resolve but the theory taught will be very general so aimed at users of all color correction software. The media used will be available on a USB stick so attendees can follow along.

  • Use color management to get started.
  • How to make the ‘hero’ actor stand out.
  • Removing color blemishes.
  • Various ways of softening skin.
  • Matching different cameras using scopes.
  • Always grade for the eyes.
  • Over and under exposed problems.
  • The best ways to check your shots match.
