Rice, Joe

Joe Rice serves as Senior Vice President of Product – Media, Devices & Globalization at Disney Entertainment and ESPN. In this role, he leads a team of exceptional product managers driving Disney’s streaming platform that powers Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+. This includes overseeing content and playback – glass-to-glass – along with globalizing Disney’s product experiences for all audiences across a broad footprint of devices.

He joined Disney in March 2018 as part of Disney’s acquisition of BAMTECH Media, where he served as Vice President of Media Playback Engineering. Prior to that, he held numerous roles in product and technical development before joining Major League Baseball Advanced Media in November 2013 when they acquired MX, a leader in creative and technical development for digital media experiences, where Joe served as CTO. From 2006-2013, he also served on the board of Watchwith, a native digital video ad solution company that was acquired by Comcast in 2017.
