Forsythe, Alex

During his 16 years at the Academy, he’s acted as technical lead, manager, and individual contributor on projects such as ACES and the Solid-State Lighting project developing technology to help drive standards in the motion picture industry.  Alex led the teams which received a Primetime Engineering Emmy in 2012 and the SMPTE Workflow Systems Medal in 2022. He is author of numerous SMPTE standards and serves on the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC-36.  Alex is an Associate Member of the Imago Technical Committee and a Member of the Hollywood Chapter of the Colorist Society International (CSI).  Prior to his time at the Academy, he served as an engineer at Intel and in Eastman Kodak’s Research Labs where he focused on developing color imaging systems.
