
Wells, Fay
Fay Wells is a technology and media & entertainment executive, an Angel and LP investor, and a start-up advisor who excels at business development, partnerships, strategy, marketing, and growth for start-ups and market leading companies–both in the US and internationally.
At Soul Machines, Fay is responsible for Partner Marketing efforts spanning enterprise, celebrity, and consumer. She is also a VC in Residence at Techstars where she helps select, evaluate and mentor early-stage startups for investment.
Fay has also held leadership roles across a variety of Tech and Media & Entertainment companies, including Amazon, Uber, Meta, Netflix, Technicolor, The US Tennis Association, and ESPN, where in addition to business development, she was in-country correspondent for the FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup. A few highlights include:
- Netflix - As the Director of Content Acquisition, she negotiated streaming television and movie content deals both domestically and globally, and helped launch Netflix’s Netherlands subscription service
- Technicolor - as the Vice President of Corporate Development and strategy, she worked with the C-Suite to evaluate all business investments, company expansion, and exploration of new technologies–including leveraging content and IP
- Meta - as Head of US Creator Partnerships, she ran the team responsible for managing the Top 100 Creators, helping drive monetization and product development and usage
Fay has also authored work published by the Washington Post, ESPN, IBM (IBC whitepaper on the Role of Cognitive & AI in Media & Entertaining), Dartmouth Magazine, as well as a case study with Tuck Professor Kevin Keller. She’s also guest lectured at Tuck, NYU, and San Diego State University, and spoken about some of her work on NPR, NBC and The Tavis Smiley Show.
She holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, an MEd from the University of Georgia, and an AB from Duke University.
