T&P Productions Co‐Founder and President is Ernest (Tab) Butler, who has over 40 years of experience in the Media and Entertainment field. Mr. Butler is a nine (9) time Emmy award winner, and Gold Edison Award winner, consulting in the Media and Entertainment vertical. As a Subject Matter Expert in post‐production, media management, workflow orchestration software, along with large scale video archive design, deployment, and operations, he offers a wide variety of expertise in project planning, engineering, operations, budgeting, sales, and marketing. Consulting services for product development, workflow orchestration, archive management, and emerging technology research and adoption are also included within his subject matter expertise. As an SME in the space, he defines synergies across emerging technologies and assists in bringing them to market. Mr. Butler also advises entities exploring M&A opportunities in Media and Entertainment technologies. While at MLB Network from July of 2008 through December of 2020, Mr. Butler had the opportunity to build and upgrade the broadcast infrastructure four times, deploy the latest technologies in content capture, high performance storage, server virtualization, IT backbone infrastructure, advanced networking, and content archiving, while overseeing the development of MLB Network’s internal asset management software (DIAMOND), creating a tightly integrated production environment, providing content creators with seamless automated workflows for editing, content creation, and delivery, building an archive of over 1.2 million hours of content (over 100PB) under DIAMOND management. In 2015, Mr. Butler was also responsible for the design, deployment, and support of the NHL Network video production environment when MLB Network contracted with the NHL to produce all programming for the NHL Network. The project included the development of the purpose‐built DIAMOND on ICE Asset Management Systems, based upon the DIAMOND code base and workflows deployed at MLB Network.
Both DIAMOND systems serve as the enterprise content management system for all full motion video capture, editing, archiving, and publishing solutions. After retiring from MLB Network in December of 2020, Butler focused on growing his consulting business, T&P Productions Inc., reselling Cinegy software products, Silverdraft Supercomputing hardware systems, while adding his extensive experience in video and broadcasting workflows, supporting both manufactures and end user customers within M&E, commercial, and government verticals. Mr. Butler, as a subject matter expert in the Media Management, served as the Chairperson of the Sports Video Group organization (SVG) Sports Content Management committee for five years, and frequently speaks on professional panels and at technology events. He participates in the SMPTE, NATAS, HPA, and Sports Video Group, and is on the organization committee for the Annual Cerebral Palsy of Westchester Golf Outing.
