Mondal, Tariq
Tariq I. Mondal is VP, Advanced Technology at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Washington, DC. He is involved in innovation projects, strategic investments, Next Gen TV system development, and Next Gen TV audience measurement. He is one of the original proponents and champions of Broadcast Positioning System (BPS). Tariq is an expert in wireless communications, signal processing, software development, and wireless geolocation.
Prior to joining NAB, Tariq worked in R&D divisions at CommScope and Andrew Corporation developing wireless geolocation solutions. He led cross-functional teams, managed projects, designed systems, developed algorithms, developed software/firmware, developed intellectual property strategies, and managed patent portfolios. Prior to CommScope, Tariq worked at Hughes Network System designing wireless and satellite communication systems, developing wireless modem ASICs, implementing receiver algorithms in DSP, and developing embedded software for satellite receivers.
Tariq holds BS in Electrical Engineering from BUET, MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and MBA from University of Maryland. He is the inventor/co-inventor of 20 PNT-focused patents.
