Bicknell, Titus
Titus Bicknell is a BAFTA-winning leader in the digital media and technology sector with 25 years’ experience working within startups, publicly traded and privately held companies, as well as an entrepreneur forming a number of dot-coms and digital businesses.
From the acquisition of RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) by AMCN Networks (NASDAQ: AMCX) in 2018 to 2023, Titus served as Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Operations, overseeing Product, Dev, QA, Customer Service, Video, Ad Tech, Metadata, Publishing and Distribution for AMC Networks’ D2C and partner SVOD portfolio of 7 brands and ~100 apps including Acorn TV, ALLBLK, Shudder, HIDIVE, launching AMC + SVOD and Ad supported services, as well as overseeing FAST/AVOD and On Demand partner distribution. He oversaw the rationalization of multiple platforms, teams and disparate workflows to support global distribution of content to >100 B2B and D2C end points.
Titus joined RLJE in January 2014, as Chief Digital Officer, responsible for the strategic and technical development of RLJE’s proprietary SVOD channels, including Acorn TV and UMC TV, and digital direct to consumer business. In January 2016, Titus was promoted to CDO & EVP, Operations. In this capacity, Titus lead RLJE’s digital strategy and added to his portfolio RLJE's IT platforms and investments, Human Resources, Legal, Business Intelligence, FP&A, and Finance as well as working alongside the CEO on the strategic growth of the business and its ultimate acquisition by AMC Networks.
Prior to RLJE, Titus served as VP, Digital Platforms & Chief Engineer at Discovery Communications. Titus oversaw a portfolio-wide migration to cloud-based content, CMS and RESTful API delivery to fixed and mobile web, and native apps. As Director, Business & Production Systems at Hendricks Investment Holdings, Titus developed documentary and publicity production workflows, live sports event in-stadium broadcasting, and digital asset optimization for mobile app development. Titus served as the International Digital Content Solutions Lead with NBC Universal where he oversaw international asset management and B2B marketing systems for theatrical and television distribution.
Titus is also a global leader in the cultural heritage sector. Titus co-founded the TheGalleryChannel.com and negotiated its sale to Antenna Audio. As Chief Engineer at Antenna Audio, he pioneered the first screen-based mobile tours and the development of wireless delivery and location-based personalization in museums and galleries, for which he won a BAFTA for technical innovation.
