Borys, Zoe

Borys, Zoe

Account Executive at Fuse Technical Group

Zoe has been an active industry insider since 1992. She graduated from Rollins College with a BA in Liberal Studies, at a time when Orlando, Florida had a thriving television industry.  It was a pivotal time, as Universal Studios was built and Disney had working Sound Stages for Production that was not theme park related.   Zoe’s first career Opportunity upon graduation was working for Chapman-Leonard Cranes and Dollies and managed their 9,000 square foot sound stage, and booking commercial and television production.

In 1998, Zoe relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota working for the Motion Picture Division of the Eastman Kodak Company, covering a 10 State territory that included Wildlife Cinematographers, Film Schools, Film Labs and feature Film and commercial Production.  Her biggest client at that time was Prince at Paisley Park Studios due to his request that everything he did, be shot on Film!

During a chance encounter with a Panavision Senior Executive at the Telluride Film Festival, Zoe was asked about relocating to Chicago, where she was instrumental in Panavising the operation that was Victor Duncan.  Chicago was thriving with feature film, Television and commercial production and gave Zoe an opportunity to work with prolific cinematographers such as Laszlo Kovacs, Robbie Greenberg,  and many, many others.

Zoe continued to grow her network of influencers when she went North of the Border working for Panavision Canada as a Marketing Executive in all segments of industry, including MOW’s, commercials, Music Videos, Feature Films, television series, Pilots, spec pieces, and Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Center.

Not one to settle, and having aging parents, Zoe returned to Panavision in Orlando in 2004, doing a Marketing Feasibility Study to position Panavision’s success in the Southeast.  Florida’s tax incentive was eliminated and rumors of the new industry hub becoming Atlanta, Georgia.  Zoe was strategic and navigated the exit of Panavision in Orlando, to Atlanta, Georgia.

Thru a screening of “Visions of Light” in 2006, being hosted by ICG, ARRI and Fletcher Chicago, Zoe was introduced to Tom and Archie Fletcher.  Having heard of Zoe’s career highlights, and wanting to grow Into a National Industry player, Zoe was hired as The General Manager of Fletcher Rentals, where she remained thru the acquisition and transition  of Fletcher Rentals into VER.

2015 provided another opportunity of growth for Zoe, working with LED, and Immersive Environments when she was recruited to PRG to spearhead their film and television segment with opportunities and growth in Georgia, Chicago, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles.

Industry functions near and dear to Zoe’s heart, including Producers Guild, Directors Guild and the most prized organizations being the ASC, CSC and Camerimage reintroduced and connected Zoe back with Panavision’s Senior Leadership team.  In June of 2018, Zoe joined Panavision as the VP and General Manager of Atlanta, and then relocated back to Chicago, where she remained thru May of 2023.

In June of 2023, Zoe seized the opportunity and joined FUSE TECHNICAL GROUP, where she brings innovation, collaboration, and LED opportunities to her creative peer group.

Zoe’s genuine love and tireless nature  of supporting cinematographers and filmmakers across the Globe, has Zoe internationally recognized and respected With the Associate Membership of the ASC, “Queen” of Camerimage, Board Member of AICP and Illinois Production Alliance.
