Director of Technology at WOIO-WUAB Gray TV - Cleveland, Ohio

Dan began his career at the age of 13 working in production at the local cable TV station assisting with news, sports, and local origination.  By 16, he was on the air at the local commercial AM/FM station.

At 17, he began his first degree at Ohio University Athens, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Communications while spending many hours working for WOUB AM/FM/TV (NPR/PBS).

At  22, he was in the Air Force working for Armed Forces Radio & TV at Torrejon Air Base outside of Madrid (Spain), hosting the morning radio show, anchoring TV news at night, and doing both radio and TV production.   It was while in the Air Force that Slentz started doing engineering (the only "Broadcaster" authorized to also act as an engineer).

Slentz spent years on-the-air from KAZY FM in Denver to WONE FM Akron/Cleveland before transitioning to engineering.   His career advanced from Chief Engineer at WHIZ AM/FM/TV Zanesville, to Director of Engineering at WSFL TV Miami, VP of Technology at KERA FM/TV & KKXT Dallas, to Chief Engineer at New World Symphony, and now Director of Technology at Gray TV's WUAB, WOIO & WTCL Cleveland where he's now in the process of working with designers and architects on a brand new multi-studio facility.
