Musante, Michael

Michael has been Vice President of Film Production and Acquisitions at American Zoetrope since 2017 and is Head of Film, a co-founder and Board Member of The Decentralized Pictures Foundation, Inc. He is an attorney, admitted in New York and North Carolina, with over ten years experience practicing law, before becoming a full-time creative film producer in 2013. He collaborated closely with such accomplished filmmakers as Ted Kotcheff, Martha Coolidge, Fred Roos and Richard Chew before joining the team at American Zoetrope. As executive in charge of production at American Zoetrope, he has overseen development and production of several feature films, including Mainstream, and Fairyland starring Emilia Jones and Scoot McNairy, which premiered at Sundance in 2023. He also oversees for American Zoetrope the production of The Outsiders Musical, which is scheduled to open at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater on Broadway April 11, 2024.
